Introduce

Wheel of Fortune - Junior Edition for the NES faithfully recreates the excitement of the popular TV game show, specifically tailored for younger audiences. Players engage in a captivating puzzle-solving competition, where the primary goal is to accumulate as much money as possible by guessing letters and solving word puzzles.

The game unfolds across several rounds, each featuring a hidden puzzle in the form of a phrase or sentence. On their turn, players spin a large wheel containing various money values, along with special wedges like 'Lose a Turn' or 'Bankrupt'. If they land on a money wedge, the player can choose to guess a consonant. For each correct consonant that appears in the puzzle, the player earns the corresponding money value from the wedge they landed on. However, an incorrect guess results in the loss of their turn.

Once a certain amount of money has been accumulated, players can use that money to purchase vowels (A, E, I, O, U), which can make solving the puzzle significantly easier. When players feel they have enough information, they can attempt to solve the entire puzzle. A correct solution adds all the money accumulated in that round to the player's total score. An incorrect guess, however, results in losing the turn.

The game typically features three players: the main player and two computer-controlled opponents. The player with the highest total money after the main three rounds advances to the Bonus Round, where they have an opportunity to win even larger prizes by solving a final puzzle with a limited number of given letters. The puzzles in this Junior Edition are generally simpler and easier to understand, providing a healthy and educational entertainment experience for children.
