Wheel of Fortune - Family Edition on the NES is a faithful video game adaptation of the popular television game show of the same name, bringing the familiar word puzzle experience into your home.

Players participate in a word puzzle game where the main objective is to guess and solve hidden phrases. Each turn, a player will spin the wheel of fortune to determine the amount of money or prize they can earn. The wheel features various cash values, but can also land on 'Bankrupt,' causing the player to lose all their accumulated money, or 'Lose a Turn,' ending their current turn.

After spinning, the player can guess a consonant. If the consonant appears in the puzzle, the player earns the amount spun multiplied by the number of times the consonant appears. If they guess incorrectly or select an already revealed letter, their turn passes to the next player. Players can also buy a vowel for a fixed cost (typically $250). Buying vowels reveals more letters, aiding in solving the puzzle.

When a player feels confident enough, they can attempt to solve the puzzle. If they solve it correctly, they win all the money accumulated in that round and a new round begins. If incorrect, they lose their turn.

The game typically features three main rounds, followed by a Bonus Round for the player with the highest total winnings, offering a chance for even larger prizes. This 'Family Edition' emphasizes family interaction, allowing 1-3 players to participate, creating a competitive and fun atmosphere. The graphics and sound are simple yet authentic, replicating the feel of the original show on the NES console.
