Introduce

The Wayne's World (USA) game for the NES is a side-scrolling platformer where players step into the shoes of either Wayne Campbell or Garth Algar in an effort to save their beloved public access television show, "Wayne's World." The game's plot closely follows the comedic film of the same name, with the main objective being to stop Benjamin Kane, the antagonist played by Rob Lowe, from moving the show to Chicago.

Players navigate various levels, each representing a familiar or iconic location from the movie, including a gas station, a music store, various night clubs, and ultimately, a television studio. Throughout their journey, players will encounter a diverse range of enemies, from aggressive roadies and club bouncers to security guards. Peculiar foes like a giant donut also make an appearance, adding to the game's quirky humor.

To combat these adversaries, Wayne and Garth can utilize basic attacks such as punching and kicking. Additionally, they can pick up a guitar to use as a weapon, increasing their attack range and damage. As they progress through the stages, players must collect items like money, pizza, donuts, and rock-and-roll symbols to restore health or gain temporary power-ups. Humor is a significant element of the game, with numerous quotes and comedic situations directly inspired by the film.

Level design emphasizes platforming challenges, requiring players to accurately jump across gaps, avoid hazards, and navigate complex environments. At the end of most stages, players will face a boss battle, featuring antagonists from the movie or more powerful generic enemies. The game features a limited number of continues, adding a layer of challenge. The ultimate goal is to reach the TV studio, confront Benjamin Kane, and ensure "Wayne's World" continues to broadcast from Aurora, Illinois.
