Introduce

Son Son is a side-scrolling action game developed by Capcom and released for the NES. The game's storyline is inspired by the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West. Players take on the role of the main character, Son Son (孫悟空 - Sun Wukong), a monkey capable of flying and fighting.

The objective of the game is to navigate through 16 different screens, each a journey from left to right, filled with enemies and obstacles. Son Son moves automatically forward, and players only need to control the character to fly up or down to avoid and attack. The character can shoot energy blasts from his staff to defeat enemies.

Various types of enemies appear on the screen, from flying monsters to ground-crawling creatures. Players must collect different types of fruits and other items to score points and gain benefits. Some special items can temporarily grant Son Son power-ups or special abilities, such as increasing firing speed or creating a shield. A notable feature of the game is its simple yet addictive gameplay, requiring players to have quick reflexes to dodge enemy attacks and collect items.

Each level concludes when Son Son reaches a warp gate, transporting the player to the next stage. The game offers a high level of challenge, with increasing difficulty across levels, requiring players to memorize enemy and item placements to achieve the highest scores. Son Son also features a two-player mode, where the second player controls another character named Ton Ton (Pigsy), overcoming challenges together.

The game's graphics feature a classic pixel art style, with bright colors, fitting the cheerful atmosphere of the game. The sound and background music in the game are also characteristic of NES titles from that era, contributing to the entertaining atmosphere. Son Son is an enjoyable classic experience for those who love side-scrolling action games.
