In Raid on Bungeling Bay, players pilot an advanced attack helicopter with the primary mission of destroying six weapon factories scattered across islands owned by the Bungeling Empire. This is a top-down action shooter with light strategic elements.

Each factory is heavily defended by various enemy armaments such as tanks, anti-aircraft guns, battleships, and fighter jets. Players must utilize their piloting and shooting skills to evade enemy fire and eliminate targets. Your helicopter is equipped with unlimited ammunition, but its damage tolerance is limited.

A unique aspect of Raid on Bungeling Bay is the presence of your mother aircraft carrier, which serves as your base. Players can land on the carrier to repair damage to their helicopter and rearm (though ammo is unlimited, returning to base is necessary to avoid being destroyed). However, the carrier is not invulnerable. It can also be attacked by enemy forces, and if the carrier is destroyed, the game ends.

This introduces a secondary strategic element: players must not only focus on attacking the factories but also pay attention to defending their base. As you destroy more factories, the enemy's defenses will increase, making the mission more challenging.
