Introduce
In Raid 2020, players assume the role of an elite special operative tasked with saving the world from the nefarious Shadow Hand terrorist organization in a chaotic 2020 setting. The game is a classic top-down action shooter, reminiscent of titles like Commando or Ikari Warriors.
Gameplay focuses on constant movement, dodging bullets, and eliminating hordes of enemies appearing from all directions. Players start with a basic weapon but can pick up more powerful armaments like flamethrowers, grenade launchers, and laser guns as they progress through levels. Additionally, support items such as grenades or speed boosts will appear to aid players in overcoming challenges.
Each stage in Raid 2020 features diverse environments, from ruined urban areas to secret military bases, requiring players to employ strategic movement. At the end of each stage, a thrilling boss battle awaits, demanding players to identify weaknesses and utilize dodging skills to emerge victorious. Although an officially unreleased title for the NES, Raid 2020 still delivers a pure and challenging action experience, serving as an undiscovered gem from the 8-bit era.
