Introduce

Famicom Shougi - Ryuuousen is a Shogi (Japanese chess) game for the Famicom system, offering a deep strategic experience for players. The game strictly adheres to the traditional rules of Shogi, where the primary objective is to checkmate the opponent's king.

Players control a set of 20 pieces, including types such as King, Rook, Bishop, Gold General, Silver General, Knight, Lance, and Pawn, each with its unique movement and abilities. A distinctive feature of Shogi, compared to Western chess, is the ability to drop captured opponent's pieces back onto the board as your own. This introduces immense strategic depth, as no piece is ever truly removed from play.

Furthermore, when a piece moves into the opponent's promotion zone (the last three ranks on the board), it can be promoted to gain more powerful movement abilities, for instance, a Pawn can promote to a Gold General. The game typically offers various difficulty levels to accommodate both newcomers to Shogi and experienced players looking to hone their skills. The interface is simple and intuitive, focusing entirely on the game board, true to the classic NES game style.
