Publisher The Pokémon Company and developer TiMi Studio Group have announced Pokémon Champions, a new competitive battle-focused title. The game is set to launch for Nintendo Switch in April 2026, followed by iOS and Android versions later in the year.

Unlike traditional entries, Pokémon Champions focuses entirely on the competitive circuit, bringing players into high-stakes arena battles with a heavy emphasis on tactical team synergy and real-time positioning.

Game Overview

Pokémon Champions is a free-to-start strategic battle game. Players will assemble a team of six Pokémon and compete in the "Champion Series," a global ranking system designed to find the world's strongest trainers.

The game features "Dynamic Switching," allowing players to swap Pokémon mid-move to create powerful elemental combos. At launch, over 150 Pokémon from various regions will be available, with more to be added through seasonal updates.

Key Features

Arena Combat: Battle in iconic stadiums across the Pokémon world, each with unique environmental hazards.

Mastery System: Deepen your bond with specific Pokémon to unlock "Signature Stances," providing passive stat boosts and new animation sets.

Cross-Play Support: Switch players can battle against mobile users, with full cross-progression support via Pokémon HOME.

Customization: Extensive trainer customization options, including outfits inspired by past Gym Leaders and Champions.

Launch Details

The Nintendo Switch version will feature exclusive "Platinum" starter outfits for players who log in during the first week of April. The mobile versions (iOS/Android) are currently undergoing final optimization and are slated for a late 2026 release.
