Introduce
Classic Concentration for the NES console is a puzzle game adapted from the popular television game show of the same name. The primary objective of the game is to find matching pairs of panels on a grid board to gradually reveal a hidden rebus puzzle. Players take turns selecting two numbers on the board. When a number is chosen, it flips over to reveal a prize, a part of the puzzle, or a special symbol.
If the two panels chosen by the player match (for example, both show "Car" or "Trip"), the player wins that prize and gets to choose two more panels. If the two panels do not match, they flip back over, and the turn passes to the opponent. The game continues in this manner until all matching pairs have been found. At that point, the rebus puzzle is fully revealed.
At this stage, the player can attempt to solve the rebus puzzle. This is a pictorial or word puzzle that represents a phrase, saying, or name. If the player solves it correctly, they win that round and claim all the prizes they collected during that round. If they solve it incorrectly, the opportunity to solve passes to the opponent.
The game can be played solo against the computer (CPU) or with another human player. Special elements on the board include: Wild Cards which can match any prize, Take Away spaces allowing players to steal a prize from an opponent, and Bonus Spaces offering additional rewards. Winning three rounds advances the player to the Bonus Round, where they have a chance to win even bigger prizes by solving a series of additional rebus puzzles against a time limit. Classic Concentration offers an engaging intellectual puzzle experience, requiring concentration and quick deductive reasoning.
