Introduce
In Babel no Tou, players control the protagonist Bibin, a brave archaeologist, tasked with ascending the mysterious Tower of Babel. The game combines puzzle and platforming elements, requiring strategic thinking to navigate through the tower's levels.
Each stage represents a floor of the tower, constructed from various types of blocks. The primary objective is to create a path for Bibin to move from his starting point to the exit door located at the top. Bibin possesses the ability to destroy blocks directly below him or at his horizontal level. However, he cannot jump excessively high or fall from great heights without a supporting block.
The unique aspect of Babel no Tou lies in its block manipulation mechanics. Players can destroy a block, causing it to disappear and any blocks above it to fall. If a block is destroyed while Bibin is standing on it, he will fall to the level below. Conversely, destroying a block at his horizontal level allows Bibin to move into that empty space. Some special blocks may contain items or be specific targets for destruction.
The game introduces different block types, each with its own properties. For example, there are regular blocks, indestructible blocks, or special blocks that can only be destroyed with a specific tool. Additionally, players will encounter obstacles and small enemies that move around the tower. Bibin can use a hammer to destroy enemies or certain types of blocks.
The challenge progressively increases across levels, with increasingly complex tower structures, requiring players to carefully plan each move and block destruction. Sometimes, what seems like a simple block destruction can lead to getting stuck or being unable to reach the exit. Babel no Tou not only tests puzzle-solving abilities but also dexterity in movement and reaction.
