Introduce

In Attack of the Killer Tomatoes for the NES, players assume the role of Chad Finletter, a brave young boy tasked with saving the world from the nefarious plot of Dr. Gangreen, who is transforming humans into mutant tomatoes. This is a side-scrolling platformer where players must navigate through various challenging levels.

Each stage in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes features a distinct setting, ranging from city streets and sewers to factories. Players will encounter a multitude of enemies, primarily mutated tomatoes with diverse forms and attack patterns. Additionally, there might be tomato-throwing chefs or other mutated creatures obstructing Chad's path. Chad is equipped with a "spitball" projectile as his primary weapon to defeat foes. He can also jump and crouch to avoid obstacles and incoming attacks.

Throughout the levels, players can collect power-ups such as health refills, stronger projectiles, or temporary invincibility. The main objective is to overcome obstacles, defeat all enemies, and ultimately confront a boss at the end of each stage, often a giant tomato or a character related to Dr. Gangreen. The game demands precise platforming skills and quick reflexes to overcome increasingly difficult challenges.
