Introduce

**Advanced Dungeons & Dragons - Pool of Radiance** on the NES is a classic role-playing game (RPG) based on the popular Dungeons & Dragons ruleset. Players begin by creating a party of adventurers, choosing from familiar character classes such as Fighter, Magic-User, Cleric, and Thief. Each character possesses unique stats, skills, and abilities, allowing for a diverse and strategic party composition.

The main storyline revolves around liberating the city of Phlan and its surrounding areas from an occupation by monsters and evil forces. Players will explore various locations, from the ruined streets of Phlan to dangerous caves and wilderness areas. Exploration takes place from a top-down perspective, allowing players to move freely and interact with the environment.

Upon encountering enemies, the game transitions to a separate combat screen with a tactical view. The combat system is turn-based, where players control each member of their party to perform actions such as attacking, casting spells, using items, or moving. Strategic positioning and wise tactical choices are key to winning challenging battles.

Throughout the adventure, your party will gain experience points (XP) from defeating monsters and completing quests. When enough XP is accumulated, characters will level up, becoming stronger, learning new spells, or unlocking more powerful abilities. Finding and equipping better items, weapons, and armor is also a crucial part of enhancing your party's strength.

The game offers a deep RPG experience, requiring players to think strategically, manage resources, and carefully develop their characters to overcome challenges and ultimately restore peace to the lands of Phlan.
