Introduce
In Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4 - Battle of Great Duelist, players engage in strategic card duels based on the rules of the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. The primary objective is to reduce the opponent's Life Points from 8000 to 0. Players start with a basic deck and must build and customize their own by collecting new cards through winning duels.
Each duel proceeds in turns with specific phases: Draw Phase, Standby Phase, Main Phase 1, Battle Phase, Main Phase 2, and End Phase. Players can summon monsters to the field, activate Spell Cards, and Trap Cards to gain an advantage. Monsters have Attack (ATK) and Defense (DEF) stats, used to battle opposing monsters or directly attack the opponent's Life Points.
The game features a large collection of cards from the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe, including iconic monsters like Dark Magician, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and Exodia. Players will face off against many familiar characters from the anime and manga, each with their own strategies and decks. Deck management, understanding card effects, and anticipating opponent's moves are key to victory. This Jounouchi Deck version starts with a deck focusing on cards commonly used by the character Katsuya Jounouchi (Joey Wheeler).
