Introduce

WWF Superstars on the Game Boy is a classic arcade-style wrestling game, delivering fast-paced, direct action. The game focuses on one-on-one matches, where players control one of the most famous superstars from the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) of that era.

The roster of available wrestlers in WWF Superstars, while not extensive, features legendary and instantly recognizable names. Players can choose to control Hulk Hogan, Randy "Macho Man" Savage, The Honky Tonk Man, Ted DiBiase ("The Million Dollar Man"), André the Giant, or The Ultimate Warrior. Each wrestler possesses a basic set of moves, somewhat reflecting their real-life fighting style.

The gameplay of WWF Superstars is quite straightforward yet engaging. Players use the D-pad to move their wrestler around the ring. The A and B buttons are utilized to perform attacking and grappling actions. Players can unleash punches, kicks, or execute grappling moves like body slams and suplexes when close to an opponent. The primary objective is to weaken the opponent by continuously attacking them, then performing a finishing move or a submission hold to attempt a three-count pin or force them to submit.

The game features a health bar for both wrestlers, indicating the amount of damage they have sustained. When a wrestler has taken enough punishment, they will fall down, presenting an opportunity for the player to attempt a pin. To win, the player needs to keep the opponent down for the referee's three count. Despite its 8-bit graphics and basic Game Boy sound, WWF Superstars successfully captures the atmosphere of wrestling matches, providing nostalgic fun for fans.
