Introduce

In WWF Betrayal for the Game Boy Color, players embark on a unique storyline unlike traditional wrestling games. The primary mode is Story Mode, where Mr. McMahon has been kidnapped, and it's up to you to find the culprit. You can choose one of four iconic WWF Superstars: The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, or The Undertaker.

Gameplay primarily revolves around exploring various areas, from backstage at the arena and locker rooms to city streets. You'll interact with numerous other characters, including fellow WWF Superstars and security guards, to gather information and advance the plot. These conversations often lead to confrontations.

When encountering an opponent, the game shifts into real-time combat. Battles are simplistic brawler-style encounters, not complex wrestling simulations. Players use buttons to punch, kick, and perform basic grappling moves. You need to deplete your opponent's health bar to win. While the fights can be repetitive, they are key to unlocking new areas and uncovering the mystery behind the kidnapping.

Beyond Story Mode, the game also features a Versus mode, allowing for more traditional one-on-one matches against a computer opponent or another player via a link cable. However, the true highlight of WWF Betrayal lies in its blend of adventure and investigative elements within the wrestling world, offering a distinct experience compared to other titles in the genre.
