In Word Zap (GB), players dive into a fast-paced and mentally engaging word puzzle challenge. The game screen displays a grid, and from the top, letter blocks continuously fall. Your primary task is to quickly find and form meaningful words from these letters.

The basic gameplay involves selecting adjacent letters to form a word. Letters can be chosen horizontally, vertically, or even diagonally, as long as they form a continuous chain. Once a word is formed and recognized as valid (based on the game's built-in dictionary), the letters comprising that word will disappear from the grid, making way for new letters to fall from above. This helps prevent the screen from becoming completely filled.

Scores are calculated based on the length of the word and the value of individual letters (less common letters usually yield more points). The objective is to achieve the highest possible score before the letter blocks pile up to the top of the screen, leading to "Game Over."
