Turrican (GB)

Turrican (GB) is a renowned side-scrolling action-platformer where players control a high-tech warrior. The primary objective is to explore vast, non-linear levels, uncover secrets, and confront a multitude of enemies.

Players start with a basic laser weapon but can collect various other weapon types throughout the game. These include a flamethrower, a multi-directional lightning gun, and a powerful laser beam. Managing and utilizing the correct weapon for each situation is key to survival. Players can also collect power-ups such as shields, score bonuses, and extra lives.

A distinctive feature of Turrican is the protagonist's ability to transform into a small wheel (Morph-Ball). In this form, players can quickly roll through narrow areas, discover hidden passages, and even damage enemies by rolling over them. This is a crucial mechanic for both movement and light puzzle-solving within the environment.
