Introduce
Tetris (GB) is one of the most classic and influential puzzle games of all time, released on the Game Boy system. The gameplay of Tetris (GB) is incredibly simple yet highly addictive. Players control various shapes, known as tetrominoes, as they fall from the top of the screen. The objective is to arrange these blocks to form complete horizontal lines without any gaps. When a line is completed, it disappears, earning the player points and creating space for new blocks.
The tetrominoes consist of seven basic shapes: the I-block (long bar), O (square), T, S, Z, J, and L. Players can move the block left or right using the D-pad, rotate them with the A or B buttons, and accelerate their descent by pressing the D-pad down. The game ends when the blocks stack up to the top of the screen, leaving no room for new blocks to appear.
Tetris (GB) offers two main game modes: A-Type and B-Type. A-Type is an endless mode where players aim to achieve the highest score possible by clearing as many lines as they can. The block drop speed gradually increases with the level, adding to the challenge. B-Type requires players to clear 25 lines to complete, with a random set of blocks already placed at the bottom of the screen at the start. Players can choose the initial height of these pre-placed blocks and the drop speed, adjusting the difficulty.
Scores are calculated based on the number of lines cleared simultaneously, with clearing four lines at once (known as a "Tetris") yielding the highest points. The music and sound effects in Tetris (GB) have become iconic, especially the familiar "Korobeiniki" melody, contributing to a captivating and unforgettable gaming experience. It's an excellent title for those who enjoy challenging their spatial reasoning and reflexes.
