In Spanky's Quest, players take on the role of Spanky, an endearing monkey with a unique ability: conjuring and manipulating magical balls. The game blends action-platforming with light puzzle elements, unfolding across various multi-screen stages.

The most distinctive aspect of Spanky's Quest is its attack mechanism. Spanky doesn't attack directly; instead, he can generate small bubbles or balls. Players can then gather these individual balls together to form a larger, more powerful sphere. The more balls collected (up to a maximum of five), the larger and more potent the final ball becomes, dealing greater damage or destroying more obstacles. Managing the number of balls and timing their release is crucial for overcoming challenges.
