Introduce

In Serpent, players control a snake moving on a grid. The primary objective is to guide the snake to eat dots or "food" that appear randomly on the screen. Each time the snake consumes a dot, it grows longer, making control progressively more challenging over time.

The gameplay of Serpent is simple yet highly addictive. Players can only control the snake to move in four directions: up, down, left, or right. The challenge arises from the snake not being allowed to crash into the walls surrounding the play area or into its own tail. Should this happen, the game ends.

As the snake becomes increasingly long, the available movement space shrinks, requiring players to employ careful planning and quick reflexes to avoid getting trapped or self-colliding. The ultimate goal is to achieve the highest possible score by eating as much food as possible before becoming unable to move.

Despite being a classic title with simple graphics, Serpent still offers an engaging puzzle and arcade experience, demanding continuous focus and strategy. It serves as a prime example of how a simple concept can create a timeless game.
