Introduce

In the game Rampart on Game Boy Color, players engage in a challenging war where skillful building and accurate shooting are the keys to victory. The gameplay is divided into rounds, each comprising two main phases.

The first phase is the building phase. After enemies attack and destroy parts of your fortifications, you'll have a limited amount of time to repair or expand your castle walls. The objective is to completely enclose at least one of your castles with a continuous wall. If you fail to complete this enclosure within the time limit, the game ends. Building requires quick and precise calculations, as the wall pieces have different shapes, and you must place them strategically to form a closed perimeter.

Once the building phase concludes, if you've successfully enclosed a castle, you proceed to the combat phase. In this phase, you will place cannons inside your successfully enclosed wall segments. The number of cannons you can place depends on how many castles or areas you've successfully enclosed. Afterwards, you will aim and fire at enemy ships or attacking forces moving across the screen. The goal is to destroy as many enemies as possible to accumulate points and prevent them from destroying your fortifications in the next round.

Rampart demands quick strategic thinking, efficient time management, and precise aiming skills from the player. Each round increases in difficulty, with more enemies and less time for building, creating a tense and addictive experience.
