Introduce

Puchi Carat (Europe) (GBC) is a unique puzzle game that combines classic Arkanoid-style block-breaking mechanics with gem collection and competitive elements. Your primary goal is to control a paddle at the bottom of the screen to bounce a ball upwards, breaking colorful crystal blocks, known as "Carats."

What makes Puchi Carat special is that the Carat blocks don't just disappear when broken. Instead, when you break a group of same-colored Carats, they fall. If you collect a certain number of same-colored Carats (usually three or more) by catching them with your paddle, they are "cleared" from your queue and can trigger special effects or send additional blocks to your opponent's screen in versus mode.

In single-player mode, the objective is to destroy all Carat blocks on the screen to complete the stage. The game features multiple stages with varying block layouts and increasing difficulty. Throughout the gameplay, power-up items will drop, offering various benefits such as lengthening your paddle, increasing ball speed, spawning extra balls, or other effects that help you clear the stage more easily.

The versus mode is where Puchi Carat truly shines. You will compete against an AI character (or another player if a two-player mode is available) on a split screen. By clearing large groups of Carats or performing combos, you can send "garbage" blocks to your opponent's screen, putting them at a disadvantage. The goal is to fill your opponent's screen with blocks or clear your own blocks before your opponent does. Each character in the game also possesses unique abilities and skills, adding strategic depth to the gameplay. The game's graphics feature a cute anime style, accompanied by cheerful music, creating an addictive and engaging puzzle experience.
