Introduce

In Pipe Dream, players are presented with an empty grid, and their primary objective is to construct a continuous pipeline for a flowing substance known as "flooz." Various pipe segments (straight, turns, cross junctions, etc.) appear randomly from the top of the screen and fall downwards. Players must quickly rotate and place these segments onto the grid before they disappear or the flow begins to spill.

The initial goal is often to guide the flooz from a starting point to a specific exit, or simply to build the longest possible pipeline to maximize the score before the flow spills. Each correctly placed pipe segment that becomes part of the path earns points. Creating longer and more intricate pipelines, or successfully connecting to exit points, yields higher bonus scores.

The challenge of Pipe Dream lies in rapid planning and adaptability. The flooz flow begins after a short delay or once a certain number of pipes have been placed, and it moves relentlessly. If the flow reaches an open end of a pipe that is not connected, or if the player fails to place pipes in time to extend the path, the game ends. As players advance to higher levels, the flow speed increases, more complex pipe types may appear, and the time pressure significantly mounts, demanding quick reflexes and strategic thinking.
