Lemmings (USA) (GBC)

Lemmings is a unique and classic strategy puzzle game where players are tasked with saving a horde of small, green-haired, mindlessly wandering creatures known as lemmings. The primary objective in each level is to guide a specific number of these lemmings from an entry point to a designated exit safely. These lemmings march continuously in one direction, and without player intervention, they will blindly walk into various hazards such as pits, water, lava, or other environmental obstacles.

To rescue them, players must assign special skills to individual lemmings by selecting them from a toolkit panel at the bottom of the screen. These skills include: Climber (to scale walls), Floater (to parachute safely from heights), Bomber (to self-destruct and create holes), Blocker (to stop other lemmings and redirect their flow), Builder (to construct bridges), Basher (to dig horizontally), Miner (to dig diagonally), and Digger (to dig straight down). Each skill has a limited number of uses per level, requiring players to think strategically and conserve their resources.

The gameplay of Lemmings revolves around careful planning and precise execution of action sequences. Players need to observe the terrain, anticipate the lemmings' path, and decide when and where to apply each skill. A single misstep can lead to the loss of an entire group of lemmings. Levels progressively increase in complexity, introducing more elaborate obstacles, time limits, and higher rescue percentage requirements. The GBC version retains the core spirit and challenging nature of the original game, offering an addictive puzzle experience on a handheld device.
