In KO - The Pro Boxing, players step into the world of professional boxing on the Game Boy Color system. You begin your career as an amateur boxer, needing to train to improve stats like strength, speed, stamina, and defense. Training often involves mini-games or simple menu selections to allocate skill points.
Once ready, you'll engage in intense boxing matches. The control system typically uses the GBC's buttons to execute jabs, hooks, uppercuts, and defensive maneuvers like blocking or dodging. Timing and choosing the right punch type are key to breaking through your opponent's guard and dealing damage. Each opponent has their own fighting style and weaknesses, requiring players to adapt their strategy. The ultimate goal is to climb the ranks, defeat regional champions, and eventually claim the world championship belt.
Despite being a GBC title, KO - The Pro Boxing strives to recreate the vibrant atmosphere of the boxing ring with characteristic pixel art graphics and lively sound effects for each punch. This is a straightforward yet engaging boxing experience, focusing on combat skills and managing your fighter's progression.
