Great Greed (GB)

Great Greed is a unique role-playing game (RPG) for the Game Boy Color, distinguished by its innovative and unconventional combat system. Instead of traditional turn-based battles or real-time action, Great Greed employs a combat mechanic based on a slot machine.

In each battle, players will see a set of three reels at the bottom of the screen. Your task is to stop these reels to create various symbol combinations. These combinations determine the main character's actions – from dealing damage, casting spells, to defensive maneuvers or healing. For example, aligning three sword symbols might result in a powerful attack, while three heart symbols could restore health points. This introduces an element of chance but also requires timing skill to achieve desired outcomes.

Beyond its unique combat mechanism, Great Greed retains traditional RPG elements. Players will explore a vast world from a top-down perspective, including towns, dungeons, and various areas teeming with enemies and mysteries. You will interact with non-player characters (NPCs) to receive quests, gather information, and purchase equipment.

Leveling up allows your character to become stronger, unlocking new skills and enhancing basic stats. Finding and equipping new items, weapons, and armor is also a crucial part of preparing for more challenging encounters. Dungeons often contain simple puzzles that need to be solved to progress further or access treasures. The ultimate goal of Great Greed is to collect valuable treasures and defeat the main antagonist to bring peace to the kingdom.
