Introduce

In Faceball 2000 for Game Boy and Game Boy Color, players experience a unique first-person shooter. You control a gun within a simplistic 3D maze environment, with the primary objective of finding and destroying "smiley face" enemies.

Gameplay focuses on exploring mazes, which feature numerous turns and dead ends. Enemies are spherical objects with smiley faces, and they will move around and shoot back. Players need to maneuver skillfully, dodging enemy projectiles and aiming accurately to take them down. When hit, enemies will break apart into pieces.

In addition to destroying enemies, players also need to search for power-up items scattered throughout the maze. These items can include increased movement speed, enhanced firepower, or protective shields. Judicious use of these power-ups will help players overcome more challenging levels.

Each level in Faceball 2000 typically requires a certain number of enemies to be destroyed or an exit to be found. Despite the simple graphics due to the Game Boy's hardware limitations, the game still delivers a sense of action and strategy as you constantly move, search, and confront enemies within the confined maze spaces. The game also features light puzzle elements as players must navigate complex mazes.
