Introduce

Elevator Action for Game Boy and Game Boy Color is an adaptation of the classic arcade title. In this game, players assume the role of a secret agent codenamed "Agent 17," whose mission is to infiltrate multi-story buildings to collect confidential red documents hidden behind blue doors.

Each level takes place within a multi-story building featuring numerous elevators and escalators. The primary objective is to descend to the basement, collect all the secret documents, and then escape the building via a red car located on the ground floor.

Gameplay primarily revolves around controlling Agent 17 as they navigate through floors, utilizing elevators and escalators to move up and down. Enemies are opposing spies who emerge from doors or patrol the floors. Players can shoot them down with a pistol. A distinctive feature is the ability to shoot while jumping or while inside an elevator. When an enemy is defeated, they sometimes drop a bullet, allowing the player to replenish their ammunition.

The main challenge lies in managing elevator usage. Players must time their elevator movements carefully to avoid ambushes by enemies or getting trapped. Elevators can also be used to crush enemies if they stand in the elevator's path, which is an effective way to eliminate multiple opponents at once.

The graphics of the Game Boy/Color version, while simple, retain the distinctive style of the original arcade game. The sound also replicates familiar effects. Elevator Action demands agility, quick reflexes, and effective movement planning to complete missions. Each building features a different layout and increasing difficulty, providing an addictive experience for players who enjoy arcade action games.
