Introduce

In Earthworm Jim (GB/GBC), players take on the role of Jim, an ordinary earthworm who accidentally acquires a powerful super suit, transforming him into a cosmic superhero. Jim's primary mission is to rescue Princess What's-Her-Name from various bizarre and evil forces across the galaxy.

The gameplay of Earthworm Jim is a unique blend of platforming and run-and-gun action. Players navigate through creatively designed and often hilarious levels, encountering a wide array of quirky enemies and memorable bosses. Jim's main weapon is his plasma blaster, allowing him to fire energy projectiles at foes. Additionally, Jim can use his own head as a whip for close-quarters combat, to swing across gaps, or even as a bungee cord.

Levels in Earthworm Jim are highly diverse, ranging from strange alien planets and dilapidated cities to challenging underwater sections. Each level presents unique obstacles, requiring players to skillfully jump, evade hazards, and solve minor puzzles to progress. The Game Boy and Game Boy Color versions largely retain the spirit and core gameplay of the original console releases, albeit with adaptations in graphics and sound to suit the handheld hardware. Players will need to collect various power-ups, such as ammunition or health, to survive the intense battles. Boss fights are often epic and require players to discover their weaknesses to emerge victorious. With its fast-paced action, light puzzle elements, and distinctive humor, Earthworm Jim offers a uniquely entertaining experience on a handheld device.
