Dragon Ball Z - Densetsu no Chou Senshi-tachi on the GBC offers a unique gameplay experience, blending elements of fighting and turn-based RPG genres. Players control a team of familiar Z Fighters such as Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, and many others, progressing through key events in the Dragon Ball Z storyline, from the Frieza Saga to the Cell and Buu Sagas.
The game's combat system is card-based. Each character has their own deck of cards representing attacks, defenses, and special techniques like Kamehameha or Final Flash. When it's their turn, players select a card from their hand to perform an action. The card's value (attack or defense power) and the type of technique determine the effectiveness of the move.
A unique aspect is that cards can be combined to unleash more powerful combos. Managing Ki energy is also crucial, as powerful techniques often consume a significant amount of Ki. Between battles, players can upgrade character stats, learn new techniques, or search for stronger cards to enhance their team's power. The game encourages strategic thinking in card selection and team building.
