Introduce
In Chase HQ - Secret Police on the Game Boy Color, players step into the shoes of Tony Gibson, an undercover cop belonging to the elite "Chase HQ" task force. Your primary mission is to pursue and apprehend dangerous criminals attempting to escape on the highway. This is an action-packed driving game with a strong emphasis on time limits and ramming tactics.
Each stage begins with intel on the criminal's vehicle and a strict time limit for the pursuit. You'll drive your disguised police car, speeding through busy roads, swerving to avoid civilian vehicles to close in on your target. Once you're close enough, your objective is to ram the criminal's car repeatedly. Each successful ram inflicts damage on the enemy vehicle, and you need to continue doing this until their car is completely destroyed or incapacitated.
The time factor is critically important in Chase HQ - Secret Police. You must complete the apprehension before the countdown timer reaches zero. To assist in your pursuit, players have access to a limited number of "Turbo Boosts." These are sudden bursts of speed that help you quickly close the gap on your target or escape a tricky situation. However, the number of Turbo uses is finite and must be deployed wisely.
After successfully apprehending a criminal in a stage, you will proceed to the next level with a new target and potentially different time constraints. The difficulty progressively increases through the stages, with criminals driving faster, more durable vehicles, and the routes becoming more complex. The game delivers the thrilling sensation of a high-speed chase, demanding quick reflexes and the ability to judge the perfect moment for impact.
