Introduce

Carmageddon - Carpocalypse Now on Game Boy Color delivers a violent vehicular combat experience, albeit limited by the hardware. Players control one of several types of vehicles, often equipped with weapons or destructive capabilities, participating in insane races across various tracks.

The objective in the game isn't merely to finish first. Players can win a level in three primary ways: completing all the required laps, destroying all opponent vehicles, or running over all pedestrians on the map. It's this last option that established Carmageddon's controversial reputation.

During gameplay, you'll face aggressive AI opponents who will try to ram your car to inflict damage. The damage system is quite detailed, with vehicle parts that can deform or fall off. Players need to manage their car's health bar to avoid destruction. Repair points and random power-ups will appear on the road, helping you fix your car, boost speed, or gain special abilities like car jumps, freezing opponents, or even making pedestrians explode.

Although the GBC version features much simpler graphics and sound compared to the original PC game, it still attempts to retain the chaotic and violent spirit. Levels often have an open structure, allowing players to explore and find secrets or shortcuts. The number of cars and opponents isn't as high as the PC version, but still sufficient to create intense confrontations. Running over pedestrians awards points and time, encouraging players to engage in this action. Carmageddon - Carpocalypse Now is a unique title on the GBC, bearing the strong mark of the original series with its unrestricted and violently entertaining gameplay.
