Introduce

In the game Yoshi on the NES, players control Mario at the bottom of the screen, moving two trays to catch and arrange falling blocks. The primary objective is to strategically stack blocks so they disappear and score points. The falling blocks include various Mario enemies such as Goombas, Boos, Piranha Plants, Bloopers, as well as empty blocks and eggshells.

To clear blocks, players need to stack two identical enemy blocks directly on top of each other. Alternatively, you can sandwich an enemy block between two empty blocks to clear them. A unique aspect of Yoshi is the ability to hatch eggs. When an upper eggshell is placed on top of one or more enemy blocks and a lower eggshell is placed at the bottom, or when an empty block is placed below an upper eggshell with enemies underneath, the egg will hatch a Yoshi. Depending on the number of enemies hatched, the Yoshi will be of different sizes and grant significant bonus points, simultaneously clearing that entire row from the screen.

The game features two main modes: Mode A is an endless mode where you try to survive as long as possible and achieve the highest score. Mode B is a level-based mode where you must clear a certain number of lines to advance to the next level. As you play, the falling speed of the blocks gradually increases, requiring players to react quickly and employ good strategies. This is an engaging puzzle game that demands quick thinking and arrangement skills.
