Introduce

In Xenophobe (USA) NES, players embark on a desperate fight for survival against grotesque alien creatures that have infested space stations and derelict ships. This is an intense side-scrolling action shooter that demands players to move, shoot, and complete specific objectives simultaneously.

Each level in Xenophobe takes place in a different setting, such as a space station, a moon base, or an abandoned spacecraft. Players control one of three characters (Dr. Zord, Mr. M.D., or Col. Ice), each possessing slightly different initial stats in terms of speed, strength, and jump ability. The primary objectives are to clear areas of aggressive aliens, rescue trapped scientists (by touching them), and collect useful items.

The weapon system in Xenophobe is quite varied. You start with a basic laser pistol but can find more powerful weapons like flamethrowers, grenades, or upgraded laser rifles. Each weapon has limited ammunition, forcing players to manage their resources carefully. Besides weapons, you can also pick up money, food for health recovery, and other special items. Enemies include various types of monsters, from small Splatters to large tentacled creatures, each with unique attack patterns and characteristics.

The controls in Xenophobe are straightforward: move left/right, jump, shoot, and use items. The character's health bar decreases when attacked and can be restored by picking up health packs. The game also supports a two-player mode, where both players share the screen to cooperate in eliminating enemies. Xenophobe delivers a classic arcade shooting experience with fast-paced action, requiring quick reflexes and sound strategy to survive and complete missions.
