Introduce
Wit's is a unique puzzle game for the NES, developed by KID and published by Sunsoft in 1992. The game offers a challenging puzzle experience, requiring players to think quickly and arrange pieces logically.
In Wit's, the playfield is divided into a grid. From the top, various shapes and colored blocks continuously fall. The player's main task is to control a cursor to move and rotate these blocks as they fall, aiming to arrange them into appropriate positions at the bottom.
Unlike traditional puzzle games that focus solely on creating horizontal lines, Wit's often requires players to form specific groups or patterns from blocks of the same color or type for them to disappear. When a group of blocks is correctly arranged, they are cleared from the screen, making space for new blocks to fall.
The falling speed of the blocks increases over time, putting significant pressure on the player. The objective is to prevent the blocks from filling the screen to the top. If blocks exceed the upper limit, the game ends. The game may feature various play modes, including single-player for high scores or versus mode against the computer or another player, where clearing blocks can send "penalty" blocks to the opponent's screen.
To succeed in Wit's, players need to be able to foresee, plan, and execute quickly. Optimizing space and preparing for subsequent waves of blocks are key to achieving high scores and overcoming more difficult levels.
