Trog! (USA)

Trog! is an arcade-style action game released for the NES. In this game, players control one of four colorful dinosaurs – Bloob, Spike, Guapo, or Quack – with the primary objective being to collect all the colored eggs scattered across each island or level. The levels are designed as top-down mazes, where players must navigate skillfully to complete their task.

Your main adversaries in Trog! are purple, one-eyed creatures known as "Trogs." Initially, your dinosaur can only avoid or run away from them. However, picking up power-ups can turn the tide. For instance, grabbing a pineapple allows your dinosaur to unleash powerful punches to defeat Trogs. Other items include cherries for increased movement speed, ice cream to temporarily freeze all Trogs on screen, and notably, clovers which transform your dinosaur into a giant, invincible version capable of devouring Trogs. A wheel will teleport you to a random spot on the map.

Besides Trogs, players must also contend with environmental hazards like pits or lava in later levels. Occasionally, bonus rounds appear, allowing players to collect additional points by grabbing items. Trog! supports either single-player or two-player simultaneous gameplay, offering a fast-paced, challenging, and humorous experience for NES gamers.
