The core gameplay of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III - The Manhattan Project is a classic side-scrolling beat 'em up. Players move from left to right, defeating hordes of enemies that appear along the way. The Turtles can perform basic attacks, jump, and, crucially, unleash powerful special moves.
