Introduce

Super Mario Bros + Duck Hunt is a unique NES cartridge combining two of Nintendo's most iconic titles. Players can choose between a classic platforming adventure and a light gun shooting game.

In the Super Mario Bros portion, players control the plumber Mario (or Luigi in two-player mode) on a quest to rescue Princess Peach from the evil Bowser in the Mushroom Kingdom. Gameplay focuses on running, jumping over obstacles, collecting coins, and power-ups such as the Super Mushroom (making Mario larger), the Fire Flower (allowing Mario to shoot fireballs), and the Invincibility Star (making Mario temporarily invincible). Players must traverse 8 worlds, each with 4 stages, battling familiar enemies like Goombas, Koopa Troopas, and Piranha Plants. The ultimate goal is to reach Bowser's castle at the end of each world and defeat him to rescue the Princess (though often it's a Toad informing you the princess is in another castle).

The Duck Hunt portion is a light gun shooter game that utilizes the NES Zapper. The player's objective is to shoot down ducks flying across the screen. In each round, two ducks appear and fly upwards, and the player has three shots to hit them. If the player misses both ducks or fails to shoot down the required number of ducks in a round, the game ends. In addition to the single duck mode, there's also a double duck mode and a clay pigeon shooting mode. The amusing hunting dog appears to retrieve ducks if you hit them, or laughs at you if you miss, creating an unforgettable icon of the game.
