Spartan X 2 is a side-scrolling beat 'em up game for the NES, developed by Irem. Players control the protagonist, Rick Stalker, a formidable martial artist, on a mission to infiltrate and defeat a dangerous criminal organization.

Gameplay primarily revolves around horizontal movement and performing martial arts attacks. Rick can execute Punches, Kicks, and Jumps. These attacks can be combined or used individually to defeat enemies. Players need to be agile in using these moves to counter various types of opponents.

Each stage in Spartan X 2 takes the player through diverse environments, from streets and warehouses to secret bases. Enemies appear continuously with different attack patterns and defensive capabilities, requiring players to employ appropriate strategies. There are common thugs, and at the end of each stage, a powerful boss awaits, demanding players to understand their movement and attack patterns.

The game features a total of five stages, each divided into several smaller areas. Players must complete each area within a time limit. Rick's health bar depletes when attacked, and players need to collect health-restoring or power-up items that appear randomly.
