In Solar Jetman - Hunt for the Golden Warpship, players take control of Jetman's small, agile spaceship with the primary objective of collecting 12 pieces of the legendary Golden Warpship scattered across dangerous planets and galaxies. Each level is a distinct planet or asteroid field where gravity plays a crucial role. Your spaceship is constantly pulled down by the planet's gravity, requiring players to use thrust carefully and precisely to navigate, avoiding collisions with terrain or enemies.

Fuel is an essential resource; every use of thrust consumes fuel, and players must collect fuel pods scattered throughout the levels to continue their journey. The spaceship's primary weapon is a laser, which can be upgraded through power-ups such as shields, stronger weapons, bombs, and especially the tractor beam. This tractor beam is indispensable for picking up vital items like fuel, crystals, and the Warpship pieces. Once a piece is picked up, players must carefully transport it back to the mothership. If the piece is dropped or destroyed, it will reappear at its original location, requiring the player to retrieve it again.

Enemies include various alien spacecraft and defensive turrets, all attempting to hinder your progress. Collecting crystals is another important aspect of the game, as they serve as currency to purchase upgrades and items at the shop on the mothership between levels.
