Introduce

In Rush'n Attack for the NES, players assume the role of an elite special forces operative primarily armed with a combat knife. Your main objective is to infiltrate enemy strongholds and rescue prisoners of war (POWs) held captive. This is a fast-paced, side-scrolling action game that demands quick reflexes and tactical awareness from the player.

You will navigate through various distinct stages, each featuring unique environments and enemy types, ranging from prison camps to missile bases and harbors. Enemies include a variety of infantry soldiers, paratroopers, armed guards, and even attack dogs. While your primary weapon is the knife, players can acquire powerful temporary weapons such as a flamethrower, rocket launcher, handgun, or grenades by defeating specific enemies or finding them in designated locations. These temporary weapons have limited ammunition and will disappear after a certain period or when their ammo runs out.

The gameplay of Rush'n Attack focuses on continuous movement, engaging enemies in close-quarters combat with your knife, or utilizing temporary ranged weapons to eliminate threats from a distance. Players must carefully avoid attacks from all directions and strategically approach POWs to rescue them. The game is renowned for its high difficulty, requiring players to memorize enemy attack patterns and master the timing of weapon usage to survive through its challenging stages.
