Introduce

Operation Wolf for the NES is a faithful adaptation of the classic arcade light gun shooter developed by Taito. Players assume the role of a highly skilled special operative tasked with rescuing hostages held captive by enemy forces. The gameplay is an on-rails continuous scrolling shooter, where the screen automatically progresses through various environments, ranging from dense jungles and villages to fortified bases and airports.

For control, players can utilize the NES Zapper light gun for aiming and firing, providing an authentic arcade experience. Alternatively, the game also supports the standard NES controller, with the D-pad moving the crosshair and the A/B buttons used for firing the machine gun or throwing grenades. The primary objective is to shoot down a relentless onslaught of enemies appearing on screen, including infantry soldiers, tanks, helicopters, and even boats.

Players are equipped with a machine gun that has unlimited ammunition, but they must be mindful of the weapon's heat gauge – firing too continuously will cause the gun to temporarily jam. In addition, you have a limited supply of grenades, which are highly effective for clearing groups of enemies or destroying heavily armored targets. Throughout the stages, players can find various power-ups such as extra ammunition, grenades, health packs to restore vitality, or temporary weapon upgrades.

The character's health bar depletes when hit by enemy fire or explosions. If the health bar is fully depleted, the player loses a life. The game features a total of six challenging stages, each culminating in a boss battle or a heavily defended area. Operation Wolf demands quick reflexes and precise aim to successfully complete the mission and rescue all the hostages.
