Introduce
Ms. Pac-Man on the NES is a faithful and beloved port of the iconic arcade classic. The primary objective is to guide the character, Ms. Pac-Man, through a series of intricate mazes, consuming all the small dots (Pac-Dots) scattered throughout the screen. While doing so, you must constantly evade four distinct and intelligent ghosts: Blinky (red), Pinky (pink), Inky (cyan), and Sue (orange). Each ghost possesses a unique movement pattern and pursuit strategy, making evasion a constant challenge.
A key element of Ms. Pac-Man's gameplay is the presence of four larger flashing dots, known as "Power Pellets," located in each corner of the maze. When Ms. Pac-Man consumes a Power Pellet, the ghosts turn blue and become vulnerable for a limited time. This presents an opportunity for the player to chase and eat the ghosts for bonus points. Eating multiple ghosts during a single Power Pellet activation yields increasingly higher scores. After being eaten, ghosts return to their central "ghost house" to regenerate and resume their pursuit.
Additionally, various fruit or bonus items will periodically appear in the center of the maze. Eating these items grants extra bonus points, contributing to your overall score. Every few levels, the maze design will change, introducing new layouts and requiring players to adapt their strategies. The speed of both Ms. Pac-Man and the ghosts gradually increases with each successive level, escalating the difficulty and intensity of the game. The ultimate goal is to achieve the highest possible score by clearing mazes and capitalizing on every scoring opportunity.
