Introduce

Momotarou Densetsu is a classic role-playing game (RPG) for the NES, based on the famous Japanese folktale of the peach boy Momotaro. Players control Momotaro as he embarks on a journey from his village to confront the Oni (demons) who are causing chaos throughout the land.

The gameplay of Momotarou Densetsu adheres to the characteristic elements of 1980s RPGs. Players will explore a vast world, moving between towns, villages, and dungeons. During his adventure, Momotaro will recruit familiar companions from the original story: the dog, the monkey, and the pheasant, each possessing unique skills and roles within the party.

The combat system is turn-based, where players select commands for each character such as attacking, using magic (referred to as "Ninjutsu" or "Ougi"), using items, or escaping. After each battle, characters gain experience points (EXP) and money (Kibi Dango). Experience points help characters level up, improving their stats and learning new abilities. Money is used to purchase equipment (armor, weapons) and healing items at shops.

The game stands out with its simple yet colorful graphics, cheerful music, and unique, sometimes fourth-wall-breaking humor. The ultimate goal is to find and defeat the final Oni boss to bring peace back to the land.
