Mermaids of Atlantis - The Riddle of the Magic Bubble is a classic bubble-popping puzzle game for the NES, inviting players on an underwater adventure with beautiful mermaids.
The main objective is to clear the screen of various colored bubbles suspended above. Players control a shooter or character at the bottom of the screen, capable of launching bubbles upwards. When three or more bubbles of the same color connect, they burst and disappear. Any bubbles no longer supported will fall away, often creating satisfying chain reactions.
Each level presents a unique bubble arrangement, requiring strategic planning and precise aiming. New bubbles may continuously appear or slowly descend from the top, increasing the pressure on the player. The game ends if the bubbles descend and touch the bottom of the screen, where your character is positioned.
Throughout the game, special bubbles or power-ups might appear, offering advantages like clearing large sections of bubbles, changing colors, or slowing down the descent, adding another layer of strategy.
