Introduce
Kujaku Ou II is a classic role-playing game (RPG) for the NES, based on the popular Peacock King manga series. Players take on the role of Kujaku, a powerful esoteric master, embarking on a challenging journey to combat the evil forces threatening the world. The game combines elements of exploration, turn-based combat, and character development.
The core gameplay of Kujaku Ou II revolves around exploring a vast world, which includes towns, villages, perilous dungeons, and an expansive overworld map. In towns, players can interact with NPCs to gather information, purchase equipment and items from shops, or rest to recover. When exploring dungeons or the overworld, players will encounter random battles with enemies.
The combat system in Kujaku Ou II is turn-based. When a battle begins, players are taken to a combat screen where they can select commands for Kujaku. Basic commands include physical attack, using magic (with various offensive, defensive, and supportive spells), using items, and a unique feature: summoning. Kujaku has the ability to summon spirits or demons to assist in battle; each summoned entity possesses unique skills and strengths, adding significant strategic depth.
After each victorious battle, Kujaku will receive experience points and gold. Experience points help the character level up, enhancing stats such as HP, MP, strength, and defense, while also unlocking more powerful new spells. Gold is used to purchase better equipment like weapons, armor, and accessories, as well as consumable items like healing potions. The ultimate goal is to defeat powerful bosses and uncover the secrets behind the enemies' plot to bring peace to the world.
