Introduce
In Klax (Japan) NES, players are transported to a tile factory with the primary goal of preventing an overflow of colored blocks. These blocks continuously fall from the top of the screen and move along a conveyor belt. Your task is to control a paddle at the bottom to catch these colored blocks. The paddle can hold a maximum of five blocks at a time.
Once you've caught the blocks, you can drop them into one of five bins at the bottom of the screen. The objective is to create "Klaxes" – which are lines, columns, or diagonals of three or more blocks of the same color. When a "Klax" is formed, those blocks disappear, freeing up space and earning points for the player. The game features multiple levels, each requiring the player to complete a certain number of "Klaxes" or achieve a specific score. Sometimes, you'll need to complete a certain number of diagonal "Klaxes," or prevent any blocks from falling off the conveyor belt, or clear a specific number of colored blocks.
The challenge increases as the speed of falling blocks accelerates and the variety of colors expands. Players must think quickly and make precise decisions to avoid letting the blocks fill up the bins or fall off the conveyor, which would result in losing a life. Each time you complete a level objective, you advance to the next wave with tougher challenges. Klax is a game that demands dexterity, strategic thinking, and quick reflexes to achieve high scores and clear all the game's waves.
