Introduce
**Jeopardy! (USA) (Rev 1)** for the NES faithfully recreates the experience of the classic American television game show. The game features three contestants (you can play against AI opponents, or with a second human player if a second controller is connected, though it's typically designed for one main player and two AI). The main screen displays the game board, which consists of six categories and five different dollar values within each category, ranging from $100 to $500 (or higher values in the Double Jeopardy round).
Players begin by selecting a category and a dollar value. Once the answer is revealed, players must quickly press a button to "buzz in" and provide their response in the form of a question. For example, if the answer is "This city is famous for the Eiffel Tower," the correct question would be "What is Paris?". If answered correctly, the player earns the corresponding dollar amount and gets to choose the next clue. If answered incorrectly, the dollar amount is deducted, and another player gets a chance to answer.
During the game, there will be "Daily Double" squares. When selected, the player can wager any amount of money they currently have, or up to $1000 (or $2000 in the Double Jeopardy round). A correct answer doubles the wagered amount, while an incorrect one results in losing that amount. The second round of play, "Double Jeopardy", features clue values that are double those of the first round.
The game culminates with the "Final Jeopardy" round. Here, a single category is revealed, and players must wager a portion or all of their accumulated earnings. After the answer appears, all players write down their question. The player with the highest total score after Final Jeopardy is declared the winner. **Jeopardy! (USA) (Rev 1)** not only tests general knowledge but also requires quick thinking and strategic wagering.
