Introduce

Jaws (NES) is an action-adventure game based on the classic film of the same name. Players assume the role of a shark hunter, with the primary objective of tracking down and eliminating the monstrous great white shark that terrorizes the seas.

The gameplay in Jaws is divided into two main phases. The first phase involves exploring a vast ocean map from a top-down perspective. You navigate your boat across the sea, avoiding or confronting various dangerous marine creatures such as jellyfish, rays, and smaller sharks. During this exploration, you can dive underwater to collect conchs – the main currency of the game – as well as power-up items.

When diving or encountering a larger enemy, the game switches to a side-scrolling underwater view. Here, you use your spear gun to attack marine life. Collecting conchs is crucial, as they are used to purchase upgrades at ports scattered across the map. These upgrades include increasing your boat's speed, enhancing the power of your spear gun, and acquiring sub-weapons like bombs. Occasionally, you might also find free upgrades floating in the ocean.

Throughout your journey, players will have to face several larger enemies, referred to as "mini-bosses," before they can confront the actual Jaws shark. Each time you defeat a mini-boss, you receive a significant upgrade or a large amount of conchs. The ultimate goal is to gather enough power and equipment to face Jaws.

The final battle against Jaws unfolds in multiple stages. Initially, you attack it from your boat by dropping bombs. After inflicting enough damage, you will dive underwater for a direct confrontation, using your spear gun to defeat the shark. The game requires patience in upgrading and skill in dodging and attacking to complete.
