Introduce
In the Home Alone game on the NES console, players take on the role of young Kevin McCallister, who is accidentally left behind by his family during their Christmas vacation. Kevin's main mission is to protect his house from the bumbling burglars, Harry and Marv.
The game is divided into two main phases. In the initial phase, players control Kevin moving around the large house from a top-down perspective, collecting various items such as hammers, marbles, spiders, or toy guns. These items serve as ingredients for Kevin to create traps.
When Kevin encounters a burglar or wants to set a trap in a specific location, the screen transitions to a side-scrolling view of that area. Here, players can use the collected items to set traps. For example, you can place a marble at the bottom of the stairs to make a burglar slip, or hang a paint can over a door to splash them. Each successful trap deals damage to the burglar and slows them down.
The game's objective is not to completely defeat the two burglars, but rather to survive and protect the house for a certain period until the police arrive or the family returns. Kevin must manage the items in the house, moving quickly between rooms to counter various threats. Besides Harry and Marv, sometimes animals like spiders or rats can also hinder progress.
The game requires players to employ strategy and quick reflexes to set traps effectively and avoid being caught. If Kevin is caught too many times or the house is too damaged, the game ends. Home Alone offers a humorous yet challenging experience, recreating the spirit of the classic film.
